Calbayog nightlife revolves around simple bars and music lounges where cold San Miguel and live bands are the main attractions. Most places are cheap even by Philippine standards — a night out rarely costs more than a few hundred pesos.
The Movie House on Magsaysay Boulevard is the standout venue. A former cinema converted into a live music hall and disco, it has a proper stage, back projections, and an impressive grandstand seating level above the bar. Local bands play classic rock, reggae, hip hop, and occasionally traditional tribal music. Entry is around 20 pesos, beers around 60.
Cobra's Den on the main highway is a good stopover spot with friendly staff and karaoke. Kamalig Music Lounge in Barangay Rawis has a cosy atmosphere, live music, and a dance floor. Estudio is the quieter option — acoustic music, finger food (pica-pica), and conversation. Manuwel's Music Lounge in Barangay Obrero keeps the music going all night and takes requests.
