Public Market
The Calbayog Public Market is the major shopping area in the city. You will be able to find several different kinds of goods here at the market. The market is the main place for fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as meats, fish and poultry. On the other side of the market you will find locally made clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes and bags. There is also a part dedicated for crafts and artworks made by local artists that you can bring home as souvenirs. This is one place you can use your bargaining skills to get the best price.
Pier One
Pier one is located within the main port of Calbayog City, which is accessible by a “trike-ride”. You can see different sizes of fishing vessels unloading their catch from as early as 2 a.m. until the sun rises. This is the place you can buy the freshest seafood like prawns, crabs, squids, oysters and fishes like sardines and mackerel caught straight from Samar Sea. You can then ask your host (in hotel or resort) to cook it for you the Calbayoganon way.
Pasalubong Stores
There are lots of Pasalubong Stores in downtown Calbayog’s, most of which don’t have particular names. This is the place where you can buy local delicacies such as calamay, bibingka, puto-bungbong, biluko, tinapa and candies made of jackfruit and pili nuts. All these products do not cost much and can be given as gifts to your friends and families back home.
PCRx Computing Solutions
This is an electronic retail store situated right in the city center of Calbayog. PCRx Computing Solutions sell and repair electronic gadgets, computers and its peripherals. This store is the place where you can pick up some computer parts at half the price you would normally pay back home. So if you want to buy affordable electronics gadgets for yourself or your family, PCRx is the best place to go if you are in Calbayog City.
Analyn Fuenteblanca Mushroom House
For a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, head over to Analyn Fuenteblanca’s Mushroom House. This shop is located in Baranggay Capacuhan in Calbayog City. The store does not just sell mature mushrooms but also sells fruiting bags and offers seminar and trainings for those who wants to venture into mushroom production. If you are a foodie or you simply love mushrooms, Analyn Fuenteblanca’s Mushroom House will serve as a haven for you.
