Looc Beach lies about ten minutes' drive from Calbayog's Tinambacan district at the northern end of the city. The beach is small but properly white-sand, fringed by tall coconut palms and broken at intervals by large rocks that come right down to the water. The sea is calm enough most of the year for safe swimming, and clear enough that snorkellers can pick out small reef fish on the rockier sections.
A handful of rustic open-air cottages line the back of the beach, available for daytime rental, and a small concrete rest-house known locally as the "South Sea Island" style cabana sits at the centre. Bring food and drinks — there are no real restaurants on site, just a couple of small sari-sari stores selling soft drinks and crisps. Weekends bring families from town; weekdays you may have the place mostly to yourself.
