The waterfront seawall is Maasin's default social gathering place after dark. Vendors sell cold beer and soft drinks from coolers, and locals sit on the low wall watching the port lights and the stars over the Bohol Sea. There is nothing commercial about it — no bar, no cover charge — but it is genuinely pleasant, and on warm evenings it fills up with families, couples, and groups of young men with guitars. If you are only passing through Maasin for the night before a morning ferry, this is the right way to spend the hours before bed.
