Maasin is the main transport hub for Southern Leyte. Ferries run daily to Cebu City (roughly 4–5 hours) from the ferry terminal on the waterfront — Ocean Jet and Lite Shipping are the main operators. There are also occasional fast craft services. From Maasin, buses and vans run north to Tacloban (the capital of Leyte province, with an airport) in about 3–4 hours, and south toward Padre Burgos and the Sogod Bay dive resorts.
The nearest airports are in Tacloban (Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport, about 3–4 hours north by road) and on Cebu island (Mactan-Cebu International Airport, from where you take the ferry). Most travellers arrive in Maasin by ferry from Cebu City.
