Maasin is a compact city and most of the central area — cathedral, waterfront, market, and bus terminal — is walkable. Tricycles (motorbike sidecars) are the main local transport and cover the city and nearby barangays for a few pesos per ride. Habal-habal (motorcycle taxis) are also common for slightly longer runs.
For travel south to Padre Burgos, Pintuyan, and the Sogod Bay dive resorts, vans and minibuses depart from the Maasin transport terminal. The journey to Padre Burgos takes about an hour. Jeepneys cover some routes but vans are faster and more comfortable. For day trips or flexibility, hiring a habal-habal or arranging a private tricycle is straightforward and not expensive.
