The simplest and most satisfying option in Barrio Barretto: pick your fish from the iced display, choose grilled or steamed, and eat at a plastic table while the smoke from the charcoal drifts over. Bangus (milkfish), squid, tiger prawns, and whatever the fishermen brought in are available most days. The cooking is Filipino beach-town style — minimal seasoning, maximum freshness, served with steamed rice and a bottle of cold Red Horse. Prices are low by freeport standards. Arrive by 7pm before the popular cuts sell out.
