Subic's food scene reflects its unusual history: American-style diners and burger joints sit alongside Filipino seafood restaurants and a handful of international options. The best local eating is along the waterfront in the freeport zone and in Barrio Barretto to the north, where fresh fish pulled from the bay ends up grilled at basic but excellent kambingan and seafood spots. Prices are higher than in Olongapo proper.
