Cagayan Valley Museum and Research Center

The Cagayan Valley Museum and Research Center documents the cultural and natural history of the region. Exhibits cover the indigenous peoples of Cagayan Valley — the Ibanag, Itawit, Yogad, and other groups — their material culture, traditional practices, and the impact of Spanish colonisation. There is also material on the remarkable archaeological and paleontological finds of the region; the Cagayan Valley has produced some of the oldest evidence of human activity in the Philippines. A couple of hours here provides good context before heading out to the caves and river landscapes outside the city.
