Museum of Islamic Art

I.M. Pei's geometric masterpiece, world-class Islamic collection

I.M. Pei's last major project — a stacked geometric block on its own artificial island at the end of the Corniche, finished in 2008 when Pei was 91. The building alone is worth the trip; inside is one of the world's finest collections of Islamic art from the 7th to 19th centuries, drawn from Spain, North Africa, Iran, Turkey, and India. Free entry, closed Fridays.
