Jean Nouvel's 2019 museum — great concrete discs tilted and stacked like a desert rose, pale and distinctly of-the-place. The building wraps around the restored 1906 palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim. Eleven galleries tell Qatar's story from geological origins to the oil era.
