Al Rudaf is the largest public park in Ta'if, a rocky, partly wooded area on the southern edge of town with picnic spots tucked between massive granite boulders. In the cooler months, Saudi families spread out across the boulders in the evening with charcoal grills and tea. There are play areas for children, a small zoo, and a network of paved walks through the granite outcrops.
The park is at its best in late afternoon and early evening, when families arrive. By Saudi standards it has a relaxed atmosphere, and unlike most parks in the Kingdom it is open to all without a separate family section.
