Saiysad National Park lies north of Taif, where dry wadis and upland vegetation make a cooler, greener-feeling escape than much of western Saudi Arabia. It is mostly a local recreation landscape, but the setting is distinct enough to be useful for travellers spending time in Taif.
Come for a picnic, a drive, or a short walk rather than expecting a highly developed national-park experience. The best time is after rain or in the cooler months, when the acacia trees, rocky channels, and mountain air show why Taif has long been a summer refuge.
