Gyeongpo Beach

Long east-coast beach backed by pines, close to Gyeongpo Lake and pavilion.

Gyeongpo Beach is Gangneung's classic summer beach: broad sand, shallow water, pine trees behind it, and the lake and pavilion close by. It gets busy in season, but it still feels open compared with many Korean resort beaches.

The best visit is not only the beach. Walk the lake path, look for Gyeongpodae Pavilion, and stay late enough to see how quickly the East Sea changes colour.
