Gucheon-dong Valley is the classic lower approach to Deogyusan. The valley is known for a chain of scenic spots: clear water, pools, small waterfalls, odd rock forms, and forest shade.
It is a good choice if you want Muju's mountain scenery without committing to a hard summit day. Start early in summer, when Korean family groups come to escape the heat.
