Muju Deogyusan Resort is one of South Korea's best-known ski areas and the easiest way for many visitors to reach the high Deogyusan scenery. In winter it is about skiing and snowboarding; outside winter, the gondola still gives access to high views and short walks.
The resort is not subtle, and it can be busy in ski season. Its value is access: it lets you sample alpine-feeling Korea without needing a full hiking expedition.
