The Museum of Anthropology, housed in an old red-brick building on the National Taiwan University campus, holds the collections assembled from the 1920s onward by the university's ethnology department. The strength is its material on Taiwan's indigenous peoples — carved house posts, textiles, ritual objects and tools — alongside archaeological finds from prehistoric sites across the island.
It is small, scholarly and free, and pairs naturally with a wander around the historic core of the NTU campus. One of several specialist museums the university opens to the public.
