The Stainless Steel Pagoda, formally Phra Maha Chedi Tripob Trimongkol, is one of Hat Yai's more unusual religious landmarks. Its metal surfaces catch the light in a way that sets it apart from the region's more conventional temple architecture.
The hilltop location is half the appeal. Come late in the day for cooler air and views over Hat Yai, then take time to look at the structure up close; the industrial material gives the chedi a surprisingly delicate texture.
