Phra Tamnak Hill (also called Khao Phra Tamnak) divides Pattaya Beach to the north from Jomtien Beach to the south. A road winds up through the trees to a summit with one of the better viewpoints in the area, looking out over Pattaya Bay and across to Ko Larn, plus a second viewpoint at the southern end looking down over Jomtien Beach. There is a small temple and the large Phra Phuttha Nimit Buddha image at the top.
The walk up takes about 20 minutes from the base and is steep in places but manageable; locals climb the public stairways at dawn for the cooler air and the exercise. The views at the top extend in both directions along the coast and are particularly good at sunrise. Several small lanes lead back down toward the southern end of Pattaya or towards Jomtien — it makes a useful connecting route between the two beaches on foot. There is no admission charge.
