The Night Bazaar neighbourhood stretches east from Tha Phae Gate to Chang Klang Road, and south toward the Ping River. It's the most commercially touristy part of the city — more restaurants, massage shops, and souvenir stalls per square metre than anywhere else — but it's also where you'll find the Night Bazaar itself, several good restaurants, and the Anusarn Market food court.
The neighbourhood is busiest from sundown to midnight. By day the same streets are relatively quiet, which makes exploring them on foot quite easy. The Riverside area just south along the Ping River is an escape from the retail noise, with riverside cafes and the old iron bridge.
