A small, slightly idiosyncratic museum filled with mechanical typewriters collected by the journalist Tayfun Talipoğlu — Underwoods, Olivettis, Remingtons, a magnificent old Cyrillic machine, and several Turkish-script typewriters from the early republic when the alphabet was changed almost overnight in 1928. Each one comes with a card identifying its model and approximate date.
The atmosphere is more attic-of-a-collector than slick museum, which is part of the charm. It is a brief visit — 30 minutes if you read every card — and a nice antidote to the bigger headline museums elsewhere in the quarter.
