Çırağan Palace

Built in 1871 for Sultan Abdülaziz on the Bosphorus waterfront, Çırağan Palace is a striking example of Ottoman Baroque architecture. After serving as parliament and burning in 1910, it was meticulously restored and reopened as a luxury hotel. Non-guests can walk the gardens and view the façade from the water; the palace terrace café is worth the splurge for tea with a Bosphorus view.
