Beyazit II Mosque is a large early Ottoman mosque near the Grand Bazaar, built between 1500 and 1505 for Sultan Bayezid II. Its broad courtyard and central dome make it a quieter architectural stop close to one of Istanbul's busiest shopping areas.
Parts of the original religious complex have taken on secular uses, but the mosque remains active. Visit outside prayer times and dress respectfully.
