The restaurants around Side's small harbour are tourist-facing and priced accordingly, but the location justifies the visit at least once. Fresh fish, grilled octopus, and mezes are the standards. Go for lunch rather than dinner to avoid the worst of the evening crowds and get better light on the temple columns. The restaurants closer to the temple headland have better views than those near the car park end.
Harbour Restaurants
A story
Side's small harbour was already in use in ancient times — inscriptions mention it as a commercial port, and a Roman lighthouse stood at the entrance. Today the same waterfront is lined with outdoor restaurants occupying the spaces between ancient walls. The menus are largely identical (fish, mezes, grilled meat) but the setting — eating outdoors with the sea a few metres away and the Temple of Apollo visible on the headland — makes the price premium more justifiable than most tourist harbour fronts.
