West Beach

The main beach on the western side of the Side peninsula, with calm, clear water and a long shallow entry. It is the more popular of the two Side beaches and can get extremely busy in July and August. The section nearest the old town is the most crowded; walking 15 minutes further along the beach brings noticeably fewer people. Water sports equipment is available for hire at several points.

A story
The West Beach stretches roughly 30km from the base of the Side peninsula toward Manavgat, making it one of the longer unbroken stretches of sand on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. The nearshore water is very shallow for 50 metres or more, which makes it unusually good for families with small children. In summer, the full length is lined with sun beds and parasols rented by the large resort hotels that back the beach.
