A tiny Iranian kebab shop in Bur Dubai, a short walk from the Al Fahidi historic quarter, that has been serving the same menu since 1978: lamb and chicken kebab platters with rice, bread, grilled tomatoes, and raw onion. The portions are enormous, the bread comes fresh from the wood-fired oven, and the price is under 30 AED for a full meal.
The interior is bare — a few tables and a busy kitchen visible through a hatch — and you often queue at peak times. This is old Dubai in concentrated form: a working-class institution built on quality and consistency rather than ambience or marketing. It closes early, typically by 9–10pm.
