Jumeirah is a sprawling residential district along the coast, roughly from the Burj Al Arab southward to the Madinat Jumeirah complex. This is where Dubai's expatriate middle class mostly lives, in villas set back from Jumeirah Beach Road. The Jumeirah Mosque and Kite Beach are both here.
The district has a relaxed, suburban feel during the week, busier on weekends when residents descend on the beach parks and the boutique cafes and brunch spots clustered around the Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim neighbourhoods.
