Logma

Modern Emirati cooking — balaleet, harees, chebab — in Umm Suqeim

Logma is one of the city's better Emirati restaurants, offering a modern take on traditional UAE food in the Boxpark development in Umm Suqeim. The menu covers balaleet (sweet vermicelli with eggs), harees (slow-cooked wheat and meat porridge), and madfoon (slow-braised lamb with rice and spices), alongside excellent karak tea and fresh juices.

It is one of the few accessible places in Dubai to eat food that is actually from the Gulf rather than imported. The setting is casual, prices are moderate, and it is popular with local Emiratis as well as visitors — a good sign. No alcohol.
