One of Dubai's most photographed landmarks, the Jumeirah Mosque was built in the Fatimid tradition and is considered among the finest examples of Islamic architecture in the UAE. The white stone structure is particularly striking at dusk when it is illuminated against the sky.
The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding runs guided tours for non-Muslims on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10am. The tours offer a genuine introduction to Islamic practice and Emirati culture, and questions are actively encouraged. Children must be at least five years old. Fee is 10 AED per person.
