The main market and fish market in Duong Dong town is a working local institution rather than a tourist attraction, at its busiest in the early morning when fishing boats unload. Squid, crabs, prawns, and reef fish cover the slabs; the variety and freshness are excellent.
In the evenings, the Dinh Cau Night Market runs along the seafront south of the Dinh Cau rock shrine. This is the best eating in Duong Dong: stalls serve grilled seafood to order, fresh spring rolls, banh mi, and local specialities at prices that undercut every hotel and resort restaurant on the island. Arrive by 6pm for the best selection; stalls wind down after about 9pm.
