Getting There

Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) receives direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City (about an hour), Hanoi (two hours), and an increasing number of international destinations. Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, and Bamboo Airways all serve the island. The airport is 10 km from Duong Dong town; taxis and ride-hailing apps (Grab) are the standard transfer option.

Alternatively, ferries run from Ha Tien on the Vietnamese mainland (about an hour) and from Rach Gia (2.5 hours). The ferry experience is pleasant in calm weather and considerably cheaper than flying. The crossing can be rough during the monsoon season (May–October), particularly for the Rach Gia route.

A new international ferry terminal at An Thoi in the south provides some additional connections. From Cambodia, there is no direct ferry service; travellers typically enter via Ho Chi Minh City or Ha Tien.
