Katoomba Railway Station

Heritage-listed railway station at the heart of Katoomba, the main arrival point

Katoomba railway station is the town's main transport hub — a heritage-listed station building opened in 1891 that sits right in the centre of town, a short walk from the main street and about 2 km from Echo Point. All Blue Mountains Line trains from Sydney Central stop here, taking about two hours. An Opal card is all you need.

From the station, Katoomba Street runs south through the town centre toward Echo Point. Local buses depart from outside the station to Scenic World and other points of interest. Taxis and rideshare are available. The station building itself, in sandstone with a decorative awning, is worth a glance.
