Katoomba's dining scene has improved considerably from its old-fashioned resort-town days. The main strip of Katoomba Street has a good range of cafes and restaurants, and the neighbouring village of Leura — 3 km east — adds its own cluster of well-regarded spots. On weekends, most of the better places fill up with day-trippers from Sydney, so booking ahead is sensible.
