The Blue Mountains Line runs from Sydney Central to Katoomba, taking about two hours. Trains depart roughly every hour on weekdays, less often on weekends. An Opal card covers the fare. The ride itself is pleasant — suburban Sydney gives way to bushland as the train climbs into the mountains. Katoomba station is right in the town center, a short walk from Echo Point and the Three Sisters lookout.
