The Manly to Spit Bridge walk follows the northern harbour foreshore for 10 kilometres through bushland, past sandy coves and along clifftop paths that look across the harbour to the city. It is one of the best half-day walks in Sydney and almost entirely free — no entry fee, no tour company needed, just comfortable shoes and water.
The walk passes through six reserves and several Aboriginal heritage sites, with interpretive panels at key points explaining the Cammeraygal people's use of the harbour. Swimming spots along the way include Forty Baskets Beach and Reef Beach. The path is not paved for much of its length and has some modest hills, but nothing that requires specific fitness. Start at Manly Wharf after arriving by ferry from Circular Quay and finish at Spit Bridge, where regular buses run back to the CBD.
