The Corso is Manly's pedestrian heart, a short, palm-lined mall running the few hundred metres between the ferry wharf on Manly Cove and the ocean surf beach on the far side. It is the route everyone takes off the ferry, lined with surf shops, cafes, gelato counters, pubs and buskers, and it captures the easy, board-shorts mood of the place. At the ocean end it opens onto the Norfolk pines and the long sweep of Manly Beach.
There is nothing to "see" as such — it is the walk itself, and the people-watching, that make it the natural orientation point for a day in Manly. Most ferry day-trippers cross it within minutes of arriving.
