Mount Mackenzie Lookout gives a broad view over Tenterfield and the surrounding New England country. It is a simple drive-up viewpoint rather than a long outing, but the scale of the landscape makes it worth the detour on a clear day.
There are picnic and barbecue facilities, pit toilets, and no drinking water. Bring binoculars if you want to pick out the ridges and farms around town.
