Anbangbang Billabong sits below Burrungkuy, with water, paperbarks, birds, and sandstone in one compact scene. When water levels are right, it is one of the easiest places in Kakadu to understand how the wetlands and escarpment fit together.
The loop walk is gentle, but it can be hot and exposed. Bring binoculars if you have them; even casual birders will usually find something moving in the reeds or trees.
