Nawurlandja Lookout is a short, steep-ish climb near Burrungkuy with a big payoff: views over Anbangbang Billabong, the surrounding woodland, and the sandstone outliers of the escarpment. It is one of the best low-effort viewpoints in Kakadu.
Late afternoon is the sweet spot, when the rock warms in colour and the heat starts to ease. Wear shoes with grip, because the sandstone can be slick after rain or loose underfoot in dry weather.
