Bundaberg's flagship attractions are the rum distillery in the southern industrial belt and the loggerhead nesting beach at Mon Repos, fifteen kilometres east. Around them sit a handful of smaller drawcards — the aviation museum dedicated to local boy Bert Hinkler, the eccentric botanic gardens, and the heritage streetscape of Bourbong Street. The coast at Bargara is where everyone goes to swim.
