The pedestrian section of Rooke Street is the best place in Devonport for breakfast or lunch. Several independent cafes have set up along here, most of them doing solid all-day brunch menus with Tasmanian produce: house-smoked salmon, local eggs, good sourdough. The coffee is taken seriously. Worth a sit-down if you've just arrived on the overnight ferry and need to reorient before pointing the car south.
