Point Moore Lighthouse is one of Geraldton's most recognisable landmarks, a striped tower standing above the flat coastal scrub south-west of the city centre. Its cast-iron construction gives it a different feel from the stone lighthouses common elsewhere in Australia.
You cannot count on interior access, so treat it as a coastal stop rather than a museum visit. The setting is the draw: wind, low dunes, Indian Ocean light, and a good sense of how exposed this part of the Western Australian coast can be.
