A working Bektashi Sufi lodge (tekke) tucked into the castle precinct, established by Haxhi Mustafa Baba in the 18th century and rebuilt several times since. The interior is plain and meditative — a hexagonal prayer hall with painted ceiling, family tombs of past babas in the side chambers, and a few prayer rugs. The Bektashi order has its world headquarters in Tirana and a longstanding presence in Krujë.
Visitors are welcome — remove shoes, modest dress — and the resident dervish will usually offer tea. A useful counterweight to the more frequented mosque-and-museum sights in the castle.
