Pogradec's pleasures are simple: walking the lakeside promenade, swimming in Lake Ohrid's remarkably clear water, and eating fresh fish at the restaurants along the shore. The ruins of Pogradec Castle above the town and the Illyrian archaeological site at Buchimas a few kilometres south are the main sights for those who want something more structured. The Drilon springs south along the lake in North Macedonia are a popular day excursion, though accessing them requires crossing the border.
