Lukove

Lukove (or Lukova) is a traditional village on the Albanian Riviera, about 35 km north of Saranda on the coastal road. The village sits on steep hillside above a series of beaches that vary from sandy coves to rocky inlets, all with the clear water characteristic of this stretch of the Ionian coast. The village itself — old stone houses, a mosque, and a central square with a view over the sea — is one of the more intact traditional settlements on the coast.

The beaches below Lukove are much less developed than those around Ksamil and Saranda — fewer sunbeds, fewer bars, and considerably fewer people in season. The coastal road here is scenic and winding, making the drive itself part of the appeal. Best reached by car; buses on the Saranda–Vlore route stop at the village.
