A small fishing village on the south shore of Lake Shkodër, around six kilometres west of the city. A single road runs along the waterfront, with a row of unfussy fish restaurants, a few guesthouses, and a tiny pebble beach at the end. The bike ride out from Shkodër takes around 30 minutes on the dedicated lakeside cycle path.
The restaurants are the reason to come. Lunch on a terrace over the lake, ordering fried carp or eel with a glass of cold raki, is one of the small pleasures of Shkodër. Sunsets from the village waterfront are particularly good — the lake faces west across the water to the Montenegrin mountains.
