Tirana's main park stretches across 230 hectares on the south side of the city, with an artificial lake at its centre. This is where locals come to run, cycle, paddle a hired boat, or sit at one of the lakeside cafés. The park also contains the President's Residence, the open-air stage that hosts summer concerts, the Presidential Cemetery, and a small zoo.
It is a pleasant half-day on foot, and easily reached from the centre by walking south down Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit. Particularly nice in spring and early autumn.
