The New Bazaar, restored in 2017, is the city's main outdoor produce and food market. The covered hall is ringed by streets of small restaurants, butchers, bakeries, and pickle shops, and the whole quarter has become one of the most pleasant areas of the city to wander.
Come in the morning for the freshest produce — figs, peaches, peppers, walnuts, fresh feta — and stay for lunch. Several of the best traditional Albanian restaurants in Tirana, including Oda, are within the bazaar's narrow lanes.
