Spittelau Waste Incineration Plant is one of Vienna's strangest architectural landmarks. After a fire in the 1980s, Friedensreich Hundertwasser redesigned the exterior with bright colours, irregular forms, and a gold-capped chimney.
Most visitors come to see the outside rather than tour the plant. It is easy to spot from nearby streets and from transit around Spittelau.
