A big, bustling beer hall in the cellars and courtyard of a Spittelberg Biedermeier house, brewing its own Plutzer beer since the early 1990s. The vaulted rooms fill nightly with a mix of locals and visitors working through schnitzel, ribs, roast knuckle and brewer's platters washed down with the house lager.
It is louder and more boisterous than the genteel Beisl nearby, and all the more fun for it, with a leafy garden that comes into its own in summer. A reliable, good-value stop in the middle of the quarter's cobbled lanes.
